Klaar
← Help centre VAT and SARS

Why does it complain about my line descriptions?

"Services rendered" and similar are the descriptions SARS flags most often, because they do not identify what was actually supplied.

SARS requires an accurate description of the goods or services on a tax invoice. Generic wording like "services rendered", "labour" or "sundry" fails that test, and it is a common reason for a client's input VAT claim being disallowed.

Name the job or the site instead. "DB board replacement, Unit 4, 22 Kloof Street" tells anyone reading it exactly what was supplied.

This is a warning rather than a blocker, so you can still send it. Klaar is telling you where the risk sits, not overruling you.
