Klaar
Built for South African businesses

Send an invoice SARS will accept. Get paid before you have to ask twice.

Klaar checks every invoice against the VAT Act before it leaves, puts an Apple Pay and card link on it, and chases the late ones for you so you never have to send that email again.

Cancel any time Your money goes to your own bank Export everything, whenever

Set up once

Your business details, VAT number and bank account. Two minutes, and every invoice after that is already compliant.

Invoice in a minute

Pick a client, list what you supplied. Klaar works out the VAT and tells you which kind of tax invoice the amount calls for.

Get paid, or we chase

They tap the link and pay. If they do not, the reminders go out on their own until the money lands.

Why Klaar

The parts other invoicing apps leave to you

Most of these only matter once — usually at the worst possible moment.

01

It refuses to send a bad invoice

Missing VAT number, no client address on a R12 000 job, a line that just says “services rendered” — caught before you send, not during an audit.

02

Apple Pay, card and Instant EFT

Every invoice carries a pay link and a QR code. Your client taps once. No account, no app, no password on their side.

03

The chasing happens without you

Three reminders at 3, 10 and 21 days, firmer each time, stopping the second anything is paid. Plus a WhatsApp message ready to send from your own number.

04

Issued means issued

Numbers are consecutive with no gaps, sent invoices lock, and corrections go through credit notes. Every action is dated in an audit trail you can show anyone.

05

Separate accounts, properly separated

Each business is its own workspace. Owners control bank and VAT details, staff can invoice, your accountant gets read access and exports.

06

Your data leaves when you do

Invoices, line items, clients and a VAT summary, as CSV, on demand. No export request and no hostage-taking.

Questions

Before you sign up

Where does my clients' money actually go?

Into your own bank account. You connect your own payment account, and their payments settle directly to you — Klaar never holds, receives or touches your takings. The only money we handle is your monthly subscription.

Do I need to be registered for VAT?

No. Tell Klaar you are not a VAT vendor and your documents go out headed “Invoice” with no VAT line, which is exactly what the law requires of a non-vendor. Switch it on later and everything changes automatically.

Do my clients need an account?

Never. They open the link in the email or scan the QR code on the invoice, and pay. No sign-up, no app, no password. Card details go to the payment provider, not to us.

What happens if I stop paying?

Invoicing pauses, but nothing is deleted and your exports keep working. Your invoices, clients and history stay exactly where they are, and paying again restores access to all of it.

Can my bookkeeper get in?

Yes, on Growth and Pro. Accountants get read access and the export files — everything they need at year end and nothing more. They cannot change your bank or VAT details.

What if I make a mistake on an invoice?

Drafts can be edited freely. Once issued, an invoice locks and you correct it with a credit note, which is what SARS expects and keeps your audit trail honest. Klaar walks you through it in two clicks.
